What Is Schema Markup?
Schema markup (also called structured data) uses the Schema.org vocabulary to annotate web pages with machine-readable information. For dealerships, key schema types include Vehicle, LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, and BreadcrumbList. Google Search Central (May 2026) states structured data is not required for generative AI features and there is no special AI-only schema. It remains valuable for rich results eligibility, inventory and local clarity, and overall SEO hygiene. Dealerships with comprehensive schema see higher rich snippet rates and clearer machine-readable facts for any system that parses JSON-LD.
