What Is Featured Snippet?
Featured snippets (also called "position zero") are extracted answers that Google displays above the first organic result. They appear for question-based queries and can take the form of paragraphs, lists, or tables. For dealerships, featured snippet opportunities include service-related questions ("how often should I change my oil"), buying process questions ("what credit score do I need to buy a car"), and comparison queries ("SUV vs crossover"). Content optimized for featured snippets should directly answer the target question in 40-60 words, use clear heading structure, and provide supporting detail below. Featured snippets are also a primary source for AI Overviews.
