What Is Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals (CWV) are Google's standardized metrics for measuring page experience: Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) measures loading - the time until the largest visible element renders (target: under 2.5 seconds); First Input Delay (FID) measures interactivity - how quickly the page responds to user input (target: under 100ms); and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) measures visual stability - how much page content shifts during loading (target: under 0.1). Dealership websites often struggle with CWV due to heavy inventory images, third-party chat widgets, and multiple tracking scripts. Improving CWV is both a ranking signal and a conversion factor - a 1-second improvement in LCP can increase conversions 7-10%.
