Page Speed
How fast a web page loads and becomes interactive - a critical factor for both user experience and search engine rankings, especially on mobile devices.
PS
What Is Page Speed?
Page speed encompasses multiple metrics: Time to First Byte (TTFB), First Contentful Paint (FCP), Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), and Time to Interactive (TTI). For dealership websites, common speed killers include: uncompressed inventory photos (5-10MB each), excessive third-party scripts (chat widgets, tracking pixels, retargeting tags), render-blocking JavaScript, and unoptimized inventory widgets. Google uses Core Web Vitals as ranking signals, and slow mobile pages have significantly higher bounce rates. Optimization strategies include: converting images to WebP format, lazy-loading below-fold content, deferring non-critical scripts, implementing a CDN, and using browser caching. Most dealership sites score 20-40 on mobile PageSpeed Insights; reaching 50+ puts you ahead of most competitors.
